Brief job description:
You will be required to translate, post-edit or collect data from English into your target language or vice versa.
Cerinte
Absolute Requirements:
o You know at least 2 languages (English and at least one language listed below at different levels of perfection)
o True passion for foreign languages
o Interest in how languages work, how they differ, their idioms
o Having used some free online machine translation tools
o Translation or post-editing experience preferably from and to English
o Knowing (and having used before) some language tools for Languages 1 and 2
o Linguistic knowledge: semantics, syntax, lexicon, morphology, terminology, part of speech
o Language skills:
Language 1: English (US) - Perfect Reading, Perfect Writing, Good Speaking.
Language 2: one of these: Dutch, Polish, Korean - Perfect Reading, Very good Writing, Good Speaking.
Ideally
o Native speaker of one language of the Language 2 list
o Experience with professional formal language (as found in manuals, controlled language)
o Experience in using a Translation Memory tool
o Some technical experience (with MS Word/Open Office, HTML/XML/XSLT, Character Encoding, regular expressions)
o Basic understanding of domains, tagging, ontology
o Having worked in a project setup before (as a translator, a reviewer, a post-editor, an author)
