Descrierea postului:
The Translation Engineer will be responsible to:
• Establish and improve the translation production work flow process
• Test, learn & teach others new translation tools (commercial tools & internally made tools)
• Support the internal & external teams using these tools
• Implement new technical solutions in a semi-automatic production line
Cerinte
Required knowledge & skills:
• Very good hands-on knowledge of several different translation memory tools (at least the 3 main different tools available on the market today)
• Excellent conceptual knowledge of various types of translation processes
• Up to date with new or improved technologies: auto-propagate, auto-suggest, perfect match, XU, QuickPlace… and knowledgeable about what they actually mean for a translator or a post-editor
• Some basic knowledge about QA and QC tools & techniques
• Having worked with MT output before (any type is OK)
• Good text search skills (full text search, regex, concordance)
• Having worked with pipeline tools before (commercial or open source) or with sequencing tools
• Familiar with XML formats (TMX, XLIFF, TBX) and being able to use XSLT on them for preview & filtering
• Being able to create SRX files for all languages
• Good level of English (listen, speak, read, write)
• Having worked in a translation team before
Useful assets:
• Excellent knowledge on Word & Excel
• Being able to write SQL queries
• Some scripting (python, perl, lua, real basic) or development (java, c#, …) experience
• Conceptual knowledge on client-server applications, cloud computing, virtual machines, sandbox testing…
• Translation Memory maintenance
• Having worked with online translation and/or project management systems
