Job role:
Join our team as Software Development Manager and contribute with your knowledge and skills in delivering great products to our customers and developing our organization by improving processes, productivity, quality and knowledge. Manage your teams by planning and designing, attracting and allocating the resources properly, monitoring the processes and results in order to deliver the new features on time and at great quality.
Responsibilities and attributes:
• Manages one or more teams and vigorously pursue the teams’ given objectives within the required timeframe, following standards and quality guidelines;
• Identifies & removes obstacles to team’s and projects’ progress and success as soon as possible, escalates irregularities to the proper person
• Work collaboratively and communicate with other stakeholders (QAM, PGM, PM, Director of QA, other SDMs) for projects’ and team’s success and maintain regular and open communication;
• Ensure all given objectives of the team are properly documented and approved
• Assist team members in order to ensure that task/position requirements, objectives and quality standards are properly understood and followed;
• Ensures a good communication work environment between team members and across projects, and encourage initiatives, briefings and debates;
• Monitors and measures teams’ productivity and quality of work
• Leads the creation of the development plan based on the business requirements communicated by the PGM & PM
• Responsible for recruitment of the proper human resources for his/her team;
• Responsible directly or by delegation to accommodate, train (coach and mentor) and assist new team members;
• Focused on team motivation and driving synergy amongst team members;
• Supervises the periodical performance review process, conducts evaluation of his subordinates and assist them in developing their own career path;
• Anticipates and manages potential conflicts inside teams or with other functional areas.
• Part of the management team of the Romanian office
• Takes an active part, together with other local managers and senior management in the continuous improvement of organization’s processes, standards, management tools and methodologies.
• Initiates, supports and implements internal, organizational projects
• Takes part in budget development and monitors execution of the budget assigned to him/her
• Actively supports organizational or product-related decisions of upper management, transfers them into tasks and directions for his/her subordinates
• Recommends, obtains, manages and coordinates all necessary logistics, decisions and information required by his team in order to reach objectives;
• Creates and/or checks reports required by project stakeholders or upper management
• Communicates with upper management and peers about risks and threats that products or company is facing
Cerinte
Requirements:
• University graduate in Computer science or equivalent
• Understanding of people and management processes
• Managerial experience in Software Development teams (10+ members)
• Goal orientation, discipline, planning, communication and team motivation
• OOP, OOD knowledge and experience
• Strong conflict management skills, positive attitude and leadership skills.
• Must excel in a fast-paced, interactive cross-functional & distributed team environment
• Good people, communication, presentation and project management knowledge and skills
• Customer-centric view, adaptable to support the business process and functional specification
• Understands both business fundamentals and client expectations and needs,
• Strong communication skills in both English and Romanian (written and orally)
• Experience with Agile methodology is considered a plus.
