PGP Corporation requires an experienced site General Manager to initiate set-up, lead and expand a new product development facility located in Cluj, Romania. The person in this role must be an experienced and skilled leader of people, process and programs in both start-up and established software development environments.
Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated success running technology teams for commercial software products and services, be extremely effective hiring a team of highly productive and talented engineers and have multiple years of experience in general business support roles over functions such as legal, accounting, human resource and facilities, doing business in Romania.
Managing a satellite development location requires the ability to build strong cross functional relationships and highly productive customer relations skills. This role requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels, internal and external to the company.
This role reports to the Vice President of Technology and Products
Cerinte •Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a management position within commercial software development environments.Demonstrated effective problem identification and problem solving skills a must.
•Very strong English language skills.
•Experience managing highly accountable general business policy and process.
•Must be able to think creatively, and communicate effectively.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment perfectly within the software arena.
•Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
•Experience with software data security, encryption and data protection products/services is highly desired.
•Experience working with European locations, and fluency in German would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
•Project Management of the Cluj, Romania based engineering teams from project planning through the successful delivery of technical requirements and features. This requires frequent interaction and tight planning with PGP Corporation’s US and European based organizations.
•Effective recruitment and management of highly skilled engineering, testing and IT resources to staff the local teams.
•Coordinate all financial activity required for running the operations of the Cluj, Romania office. This requires effectively managing the local accounting company and communicating with the PGP Finance functions.
•Coordinate all human resource activity required for running the operations of the Cluj, Romania office. This requires communicating effectively with PGP Corporation’s HR, Legal and Fiscal Planning and Analysis groups.
•Negotiating with vendors for services and equipment required to run the operations of the Cluj, Romania office.
•Oversee facilities and IT management of the Cluj office. This requires coordination and planning with PGP Corporation’s corporate Facilities and IT groups.
•Coordinate with local Universities in building relationships to enable recruitment of high caliber students to PGP Corporation’s employment opportunities.
•Manage local staff in developing a positive and constructive work environment with highly effective management processes and business controls for the company’s Romanian entity.
