Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring a high level of quality of service on networking associated to infrastructure Technical Management Center.
Ensures preparation and consolidation during the service launch phase to match QoS standards for network infrastucture.
Provide technical support to technical support teams
Provides improvement plans and enhanced procedures to meet performance objectives for networking administration.
Operations and Support
- Configures, tests, and maintains network equipments and related services
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems
- Deploy, monitor, perform diagnostics and make changes to network and information systems components.
- Understand enterprise IT design and make recommendations as needed to support capacity growth and harden network security
- Perform regular security monitoring according to internal security policies in place to identify any possible intrusions.
- Work with Support Technicians for advanced troubleshooting. Real time investigate and troubleshoot issues in accordance with customer impact.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted customers.
- Provides training for internal customers.
-Involved in 24*7 on call shifts
Maintenance and Improving
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, recommend hardware and softwre upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Ensure the KPI values are maintained according to the existing SLA
- Real time analysis and monitoring of network infrastucture , trigger and implement corrective actions.
Accountable for the introduction of new network elements/ services
- Provide expertise for system proving and validation phases
-Validates networking specifications and functionalities for new components
-Responsible for acceptance of new systems in production platform
-Issue new specifications for tools and networking infrastucture evolutions
Cerinte Solid knowledge of virtualization technologies, VMWARE mandatory and optionally open source technologies like KVM, XEN or OpenVZ.
Good knowledge of Secured network architecture (DMZ, logic security)
A least one solid knowledge on one of these area (and a general knowledge of all):
- Firewalling administration, ideally Juniper Netscreen and SRX, Fortinet Fortigate, optionally open source firewall (iptables and packet filter).
- Load-balancer administration, ideally F5 BigIP, optionally HA-Proxy
- Linux systems (especially system and network paramaters). Scripting skill (shell, Perl) would be and advantage.
- Open-source monitoring tools, especially Nagios and Cacti.
- Open-source configuration management tools
Informatics / Telecom degree with at least 3 years experience in an operational IT or Telecom environment in a large company.
