Minimum Requirements:
• Architect-level Java/Java EE experience including programming complex multi-threaded systems with a focus on performance.
• 6+ years of server-side Java software development with a distinguished track record of ensuring the performance goals are met for technically demanding projects.
• Significant development experience with transaction processing or similar Java applications using a relational database and an object/relational mapping layer.
• Outstanding attention to detail and communication skills.
• Expert ability to identify / resolve performance bottlenecks in complex server-side Java applications.
• Expert ability to identify potential limitations in software architectures.
• Expert ability to write clear and concise technical documents.
• Expert understanding of throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilization.
• Ability to conduct research using various media.
• Ability to work independently as well as with various size teams.
• Should possess creative ability, consulting skills, leadership qualities, credibility, self-confidence.
Technology Experience:
• Expert knowledge of Java EE Technologies (servlets, EJB, JSF, JTA, JMS, etc).
• Expert knowledge of Hibernate and other persistence frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Java concurrency.
• Strong understanding of common patterns of Java memory leaks and ability to identify them.
• Familiar with common Java frameworks such as Spring, Struts, etc.
• Working knowledge of application development and deployment on at least one J2EE server container (e.g. Websphere, Weblogic, JBoss).
• Working knowledge of database tuning and administration (e.g. DB2, Oracle).
• Working knowledge of Java development tools and profilers (e.g. JProbe, TPTP).
Plus:
• UNIX experience is a plus
• Previous development experience with COBOL is a plus
