Descrierea postului:
- Provides daily support to users of all system such as Distribution Control System (DCS), Advanced Process Control Application (APC), Real Time Database System (RTDB) based on daily requests received. Discusses major modifications requirements with Section Head and implements minor modifications directly after approval. Participates in the configuration of graphics, reports, database and real-time computer systems.
- Monitors DCS and computer system performance and proposes modifications/ enhancement and tuning to the hardware, operating systems and communication systems to improve system efficiency and performance.
- Liaises and discusses with Process Engineers and supervisors modifications related to Process and Plant Automation, such as material balance, fuel balance, advanced control, and proposes solutions as appropriate.
- Participates in the commissioning and acceptance testing of newly installed DCS, APC, RTDB, Expert Systems and Applications. Tests new releases of systems and application software. Coordinates with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) engineers on common issues.
- Participates with maintenance personnel in diagnosing DCS, ESD and computer systems faults, providing solutions as required.
- Monitors the work of external consultants, contractors and engineers involved in the design and maintenance of automation and computer systems. Check reports submitted by external personnel to ensure compliance with specified requirements and verifies invoices.
- Analyses and monitors (DCS, RTDB and Expert Systems) System performance and performs system administration and maintain proper and periodical back up and recovery.
- Assists in training engineers, systems users, trainees and developees on the proper use and efficient utilization of DCS and computer systems in the plant.
- Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned. Includes maintaining documentation for real-time and office systems, carrying out necessary maintenance, regeneration and updating of real-time database, assisting Automation section head in the preparation of budgets, etc.
- Provide round the clock telephone assistance and on-call assistance in rotation.
- Gives work directions to contracted Programmers and engineers.
Cerinte
- B.Sc. Degree in Computer Engineering, Process engineering or equivalent.
- minim 6 years experience in Automation and control system implementation and support in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry with 6 months special training in same area.
- Good Knowledge of English. – Spoken and written
- Interested in a long term labour contract |
