Work hard. Have fun. Make history.
Opened in Iasi in 2005, the Amazon Development Center in Romania (ADCR) develops new and innovative web site features to help Amazon's customers find and discover anything they want to buy online and builds tools and technologies that enable Amazon Retail and other Amazon web sites to merchandise effectively across multiple channels.
ADCR teams are challenged to build highly scalable systems (Amazon is the largest retail website in the world) using the latest technologies (e.g. Amazon’s own AWS services like SDB, S3, and EC2, Apache Lucene, Hadoop map reduce, and much more). And unlike many international development sites, the teams in Iasi own their products from design to launch, such as Order History Search, the project that now allows Amazon customers to search all of their past orders from the billions company-wide.
